Thank goodness for this past long weekend; I slept 'till 11 today and I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't had today off to rest and do nothing and just... be.

How was your weekend? Here was mine:
Had some peeps over for drinks and pie on Friday evening and Jason felt it was necessary to whip out the equations in order to figure out what types of toppings we want.

My favourite comment on the subject was "none of this half-and-half nonsense. It's for pussies". Hah!
Chillin' in Gords room, watching videos on YouTube.

Saturday we worked off our hangover with massive quantities of food (and in my case, homework) and set about adventuring with Teri and Alex-Lee for a while

I dragged everyone into the massive six-story antique store in The Exchange.
We made music. I don't know why, but this video is hilarious to me:
Sunday was spent with the fam eating and drinking too much; I look forward to eating turkey for the next few days.
Sasha is my super-old dog; she's 14 and in that Zen Dog stage where nothing fazes her anymore. Her vision and hearing are starting to go and I know she probably won't be with us much longer so I hug her extra-tight and give her special attention whenever I see her.
Dinner tonight was made while listening to the score for The Social Network, which I snagged off of iTunes earlier today; I'm amazed by this music, have you heard it? The version of "In The Hall of The Mountain King" blows me away.
Dinner: pita pizzas with chicken, onion, red pepper and provolone. Combined with couch snuggles and Mad Men it made for a great time.

Things are fabulous right now; my feet are super sore from a long walk with Candice (missed that girl like crazy) and for once I don't have to have my nose crammed in a textbook. I'm going to paint my nails and watch 30 Rock, have a lovely evening, all!

Perfect Saturday night in; had people over yesterday and the empty bottles this morning astounded.

Watching Frost/Nixon and eating steak.

My feet hurt from adventuring all day and I am living just putting my feet up.

Lovely Saturday, hope you are enjoying yours!

Okay so I don't watch Jersey Shore, but this is still amazing.

It's come to my attention that I've never seen Harry Brown. How did this happen? I love Michael Cain and his badassery, where in the time-suck black-hole that was 2009 for me did this cinematic gem manage to elude me?

In either case, you'd best believe I'm going to be watching this bad boy On The Soon.
I've been thinking about that time a lot lately -2009, that is. Or more specifically, I guess, the mind-suck that was late 07/early 08 and the residual baggage that spilled over into 2009.
Everything that happened, all the hurt and the confusion and the stupid things I did for love.

Was it love, even?
I don't know... it doesn't feel like what I have now, is that normal? I guess because this one isn't riddled with constant fights and dealing with a man who really didn't want to grow up.
Couldn't, maybe?
In either case, it's like night and day.
It was definitely something, but was I even in touch with myself to be able to really love someone else yet?
I don't know, looking back.

So much has happened in the past year alone and I guess it's a self-reflection thing.
Reading some of my old, old posts on Old Blog... who was I, even?
A shadow of who I am now.
If that even means anything at all.

Went to the Corn Maze outside the city yesterday with a bunch 'o friends in the beautiful Autumn sun.
There were horse 'n buggy rides and a pumpkin patch to choose from and a haunted house we didn't go into for an additional 8$. I don't need to see a fake Wolfman that bad.
Entering the maze we all seemed to break apart into little groups and got lost individually; @Khemlab's little girlie Sarah lad us in corn maze circles.
Afterward we all hung out around the giant mountain of hay and got debris in our eyes; Alex-Lee and I decided to scale that bad boy...
and jump!

This one's for you Krista!

Also there was a sweet petting zoo where I got scared by a turkey:And charmed by an alpaca:
There were also piggies and lamps and goats and horses and cows, but Tyrone just took pictures of my bum instead.
Thanks Ty.
Oh here we go: Alyson & sheep.

Afterward we got some snacks and hung out a bit around the pumpkin patch some more, where Alex-Lee tried to lay his claim on Boyfriend Supreme.
I get texts all day like: Do you think Tyrone makes meals that he thinks I would like?
and
Do you think Tyrone draws pictures of us together?
Do you think Tyrone plays video games and names the main character 'Tyrone" and all the other characters "Alex-Lee"?
and so on.

Creepy, but hilarious.
Also creepy but awesome are these images of girls and vintage robots

Enjoy! I'm off to study some more.

I wanna do real bad things with you

Scored these sweet leather Steve Madden boots from The Ruby Slipper today while out and about with Boyfriend Supreme; these boots are usually a couple hundred a pop so when I managed to score them (and a pair of dainty mint green gloves) for under $25 you bet I was in on that action. I'm excited to integrate their ass-kicking look into my future outfits!

Last night after some sweet Vietnamese at KG Saigon Ty and I checked out The Social Network
-also I'm listening to the soundtrack which I'm sure you know is a Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross joint venture-

which honestly blew me away. I don't know what I expected of the film, but it wasn't what I got, and what I got was a compelling film that portrayed our culture and how it has changed (and continues to do so) in a way that really allows the viewers to interpret their own version.

It was incredibly well-written and impeccably cast -Justin Timberlake was phenomenal- and honestly didn't portray Mark Zuckerberg as harshly as I had thought it would.

It's so much more than "that FaceBook movie", I highly, highly recommend it and will definitely be seeing it again at least once more in theaters.

Not feeling so hot today, though.

I woke up this morning and promptly dislodged a piece of phlegm from my throat that was hard (for phlegm) and pointy and kind of looked like a neuron?

But not the cute, plush kind.

Since then I've been sniffling like crazy and battling a fierce nasal headache; all the Vitamin C in the world doesn't seem to be doing me any good right now.

Time for some hot chocolate and some Boyfriend Cuddles on the couch; it's a movie-watching Saturday night and me, my phlegm and my sniffles are totally okay with that.

Friends, bloggers, lovers.
Missed you all.

These days I hardly know where my week goes; funny how much of it escapes you when you're working evenings twice a week, I forgot about that.

Not that I let my spare time go to waste, though, last weekend was spent studying (okay, not that exciting) and attending Winnipeg's very first Nuit Blanche at the WAG with these fine peeps:
Okay so the line-up for drinks was nearly 2hrs but that didn't stop this crew from getting sauced and checking out some cool art, live shows and an interactive 8bit themed setup from buddy Mr. Ghosty (vids here from @kertgartner)

I wore this ridiculousness:
They're renovating The Bay downtown and I sincerely hope that they keep the three-way mirrors that say "You're Beautiful" on them; they're my favourite part of the 2nd floor bathrooms. So good to pose in!

Following our (my) drunken art gallery romp we proceeded to be the coolest kids at the warehouse rave (literally).
6am home-time and sleeping all day Sunday? Yes, please.

Tonight I'm going to stuff my face full of Vietnamese and see The Social Network (!!!) and tweet the shit out of it since Twitter's about all I seem to have time to do these days.

Enjoy your weekend lovelies! xo

Hot like Mexico, enjoy

Spent all of yesterday recovering from #NuitBlancheWinnipeg on Saturday night; more on that later when the photos go up.

Sundays are best spent lying around, not getting dressed, sleeping lots, getting cuddles and watching shitty movies.

Our movie of choice was Logan's Run which is one of those terrible-but-awesome sci-fi movies from the 70's. It also features the worst robot ever and Farrah Fawcett!

Have you ever noticed that futuristic clothes from 70's movies have a kind of Greek feel to them? Except the earth-tone onseies from that Star Trek movie. Weird.

Ty was impressed I sat through the whole cheesy, terrible thing, but after devoting over an hour of my time to it I felt like I had to see it through.

It's like ripping off a band-aid, you can't just stop halfway.

Not only does my wonderful man let me use his silent apartment as a study space while he goes out and is his cool visual artist self at shows, he also leaves me tasty snacks!

He's a keeper, this one.

Spent my night with my Intro Soc text and sushi snacks, five hours and several recorded lectures later I am in bed with a beer and I couldn't be happier.

Gotta be up early for brekkie with Jabez tomorrow.

Night dears! xo
